No time tracking on completed projects

Clockodo now blocks completed projects completely for time tracking. Users no longer add billable or non-billable time entries to these projects.

Benefits and how it works

Completed projects represent the final state of an order. Until now, Clockodo only blocked billable time entries on these projects. From now on, a lock applies to all types of time entries on completed projects. Users can still edit existing entries, but not their duration or start and end times.

This change strengthens control over projects and supports clean project completion. Plans remain reliable and reports stay accurate. Late entries no longer distort budgets, hours, or evaluations.

At the same time, the update creates a robust technical foundation for future improvements around projects and their lifecycle. It supports a clearer separation between active and completed work.

New workflows for late entries

We understand that this change feels unfamiliar for some customers. To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend clear completion and follow-up workflows.

One option records late entries directly on the customer instead of the original project, or in a dedicated project created for this purpose. Another option uses a follow-up project for these times. This approach keeps completed work clearly separated from new tasks and preserves a clear project structure.

Our support team assists you during the transition.
