Moritz Hofmann and Thomas Romanek are friends from school days and founded their first company, without outside capital in 2003 while still studying computer science. They programmed websites and online stores and at some point realized that it was difficult to create accurate invoices for individual projects and activities.

A project time tracking system was needed. But the market didn't offer what the friends envisioned - modern, visually appealing and a perfect fit even for smaller companies – and so in 2010 they set about developing their own web-based software, Clockodo, without further ado. Thanks to self-financing from earlier successes, it was possible for them to concentrate fully on their own ideas, without any external guidelines.

However, Clockodo should not only remain a tool for their own company, but also facilitate the work of other companies. From the beginning, the system was developed as a useful solution for various industries, so that other entrepreneurs could benefit from it as well. To this day, a major role is played by simple and intuitive operation without compromising on function and convenience.

The two-man company for website programming has grown into a software company with two locations in Germany, Unna (NRW) and Fürth (Bavaria). Today, we focus on time tracking, growing by 50 percent annually. Started as clickbits GmbH, the company is now called just like the software: Clockodo GmbH. Together, we are working towards becoming the industry's leading cloud solution to further our mission of digitalization in small and medium-sized enterprises.
