More automations with the Zapier integration
Clockodo supports efficient workflows. The Zapier connection enables even more automation – and the best part: You don’t have to be a programmer!
Try out Clockodo's Zapier integration for yourself!
What does Zapier do?
Zapier connects different applications. An event in one app automatically triggers an action in another. This is based on the principle of trigger → action. These automated workflows are called “Zaps”.
This reduces manual tasks by allowing you to enter data once and automatically transfer it to other systems. As a result, you minimize potential errors and maintain consistent information across all connected applications. Thanks to integration with over 8,000 tools, you stay flexible and can tailor your automations to your exact processes.
How to use the connection with Zapier
- Create a new Zap in Zapier.
- Select Clockodo as the trigger app.
- Define the desired trigger event (e.g., “customer created”).
- Choose a second app as the target (e.g., bexio, QuickBooks, Jira, etc.).
- Configure the action (e.g., “create customer” or “create task”).
After setting up the Zap, Clockodo automatically sets up a webhook in the background, which triggers the process when the selected event occurs.
Alternatively, you can also use Clockodo as an action app, meaning an event in another application can trigger a process in Clockodo.

Available Clockodo events
At the launch of the Zapier integration, Clockodo supports triggers and actions for the following data types:
- Customers
- Time entries
- Projects
- Subprojects
- Services
- Users
These events allow predefined workflows to be triggered automatically in Clockodo and other connected applications via Zapier.
Example: Clockodo x Jira
A team uses Jira for task management and Clockodo for project-based time tracking. To reduce manual effort, each new ticket created in Jira should automatically generate a project with the same name in Clockodo.
To achieve this, a Zap is created in Zapier:
- Trigger: "New issue created" in Jira
- Action: "Create new project" in Clockodo
From that point on, each new ticket in Jira triggers the Zap. Clockodo then automatically creates a new project using the ticket’s name. This builds a seamless connection between task management and time tracking without a manual project setup.
Important: Both the trigger and action apps must offer a Zapier interface.
