Create connections for your tools

To start your Clockodo clock directly from the browser, create connections.
A connection includes the URL of the connected tool with placeholders for ticket numbers or similar values. You also define which customer, project, and service details appear automatically in your clock.

Use a template

Clockodo provides several ready-to-use connection templates for common tools such as Jira, GitHub, Trello, Asana, Slack, and HubSpot. Integration takes only a few minutes and requires no technical knowledge.

You can choose from various templates to create a connection with a browser tool.

How it works:

  1. Right-click the Clockodo icon in the address bar and select Options to open the settings area for your conncetions.
  2. You will be taken to the templates, where you can select the appropriate one.
  3. Select the details that should be prefilled automatically for your time entries. You can adjust them before starting the clock if needed.
  4. Click Save Connection and start right away. Open an issue in your tool, click the Clockodo icon in the address bar, and start your time entry directly from the browser.

Create custom connections in Expert Mode

If you prefer to create your own connections or connect tools without templates, click on the Blank Template tile in the template overview.

This opens Expert Mode, designed for users with solid CSS and HTML knowledge.

Here, you define every connection element yourself, including URL patterns and CSS selectors. Save your connection and start your clock directly from your chosen browser application.

Share connections with colleagues

Share your connections with colleagues in one step. When creating or editing a connection, activate the checkbox Share Connection. Clockodo saves the connection and makes it available to all users in your company.

Shared connections appear directly on the connection overview page. You will initially see the four most recent shared connections. Click on the Show all button to display all shared connections. Click on a shared connection to activate it immediately and add it to the My connections list.

In the overview, you can see connections that have already been created and shared.

How to start the clock in your browser

Open both the tool’s website and the task you want to track in Chrome. Click the Clockodo icon in the address bar. A popup appears showing where your time will be logged.

Select the customer, project, and service if they are not predefined in your connection. The description field fills automatically based on the issue you opened. Each time entry remains clear and easy to trace without extra typing.

Click the button at the bottom to start a new time entry or use a self-selected shortcut.

The browser extension syncs automatically with your running clock in the desktop app and the web version.

Note:
The extension focuses on what matters most:
Start and stop your clock quickly and easily.
Editing entries remains available in the main application and in the mobile apps.
