Track time on websites more easily

The Clockodo Chrome extension now includes two new features. You can create time entries with start and end times directly from the extension. In addition, the extension reminds you if you forget to switch the stopwatch while working on a linked page. This way, you track your time in the browser seamlessly and with greater precision.

The extension's permissions have been updated to support the new features. After an update, you may need to reconfirm the permissions and restart your browser. You can re-enable or install the extension in the Chrome Web Store.

Create time entries directly in the browser

Previously, the Chrome extension only allowed you to control the stopwatch. If you worked with fixed start and end times or added entries later, you had to switch to the Clockodo application. That changes now.

Use the new “Create time entry” button in the browser extension or a keyboard shortcut (see below) to open the time entry form in a separate window. The extension automatically fills in customer, project, service, and description based on your configuration. You only need to add the start and end time.

• Open the Chrome extension and click “Create time entry” or use the keyboard shortcut

Never forget to switch: the smart reminder

If you often switch between different websites and tasks, it is easy to forget to start the clock. Correcting time entries afterward takes effort and reduces accuracy. The Chrome extension now prevents this.

If you open a linked page without starting the time tracking, a discreet notification will appear in the top-right corner of the page after a few seconds. Use the play button to start time tracking immediately. If it is not the right moment, simply dismiss the reminder. This ensures that you start tracking time exactly when you need it.

Configure reminders and keyboard shortcuts

In the extension settings, you manage both keyboard shortcuts and reminders. Define which shortcut creates a time entry and decide whether the reminder feature stays active.

With these two new features, the Chrome extension evolves from a simple stopwatch into a central tool for your time tracking in the browser. You record time directly in the context of your work and ensure that no working time gets lost. At the same time, your project and time data stay clearly assigned and reliably ready for reporting.
