How the Clockodo MCP server works

The server is based on the Model Context Protocol, or MCP for short: an open standard for secure communication between AI systems and external applications. Clockodo operates its own server at mcp.clockodo.com. Through this server, AI agents use tools based on the Clockodo REST API, covering typical actions related to time tracking, projects, and administration. This makes Clockodo part of an intelligent workflow, without switching tools.

Set up in just a few steps

Setup takes place directly in your existing Clockodo account. Under Integrations, go to the AI add-ons tab, create the MCP configuration, and select the tools you want to use. Your AI agent must support the Model Context Protocol and authentication via HTTP header or Basic Auth. Detailed instructions are available directly under Integrations.

You stay in control. The MCP server does not grant any new access rights, and your AI agent only uses the access rights of the connected user. You decide which tools the agent is allowed to use, and tools with the prefixes create, update, or delete require particular caution.
